BFS PROGRAM – Helping Athletes Succeed, Teaching Athletes to BE AN ELEVEN!
www.biggerfasterstronger/home/AthleteHome.asp
Our Mission is to help the student athletes in the Hobbs Municipal Schools succeed in both the sport(s)they compete in and in the classroom. We will strive to unite our students, school and community!
One way in which we will work together as coaches and as an athletic department is through unifying all of our sport programs through the Bigger/Better, Faster, Stronger program which will allow our athletes to progress year round no matter what sport they participate in.
BFS has the ability to help our coaches and athletes with all areas of training in athletics and in life. The program focuses on the following:
STRENGTH (getting stronger to become more powerful in all sports)
SPEED (key to increased athletic performance)
FLEXIBILITY (increasing speed, increasing range of motion, preventing injuries)
PLYOMETRICS (jumping, quick movements, utilizing strength and power)
NUTRITION (making correct choices to maintain a healthy diet)
ENDURANCE (both for muscular and cardiovascular training)
MOTIVATION (goal setting, team building, working hard, smart, and together)
UNIFICATION (all athletes in all sports progressing year round)
One of the key components to the success of our athletic programs is to strive to work at an 11 level in all aspects of life. This concept falls under the MOTIVATION and UNIFICATION areas of the BFS program. On a scale of one to ten, BE AN ELEVEN!
Athletes will start by learning and mastering the proper technique of each lift or drill. The technique is critical to avoid injuries and to increase athletic performance. We must do the little things right all the time to get the results we strive for. This concept is just as important in the weight room as it is in practicing a skill for any sport. Athletes will start in the READINESS PROGRAM and will graduate to the SET/REP program once they demonstrate mastery of the technique and gain the strength necessary to do so. The weight provides the resistance needed to get the effort and results necessary to see the gains in all areas of the BFS program. It is critical that each lift is recorded during each workout so the athlete is pushed to the limit each day to put in the effort and achieve the short term and long term goals. Each athlete is expected to break 8 personal records per week. These are the short term achievable goals for each athlete. As the athlete progresses year round through the program they will break 360-380 records in one year. That kind of training and effort will produce amazing results. That is the effort we must have in order to help each athlete succeed and to help each athlete and each team succeed and achieve its dreams.
BE AN ELEVEN IN ALL YOU DO!
