Angel Signs With Otero

With a slew of family, coaches and teammates jammed into the concourse of Tasker Arena in front of the baseball trophy case, Eagle senior Angel Sanchez inked his name to a letter of intent to play baseball at Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colo. The tall and lanky right-hander decided to take his talents north so he could experience a life outside of southeastern New Mexico.
“It’s a chance to get out of Hobbs and see some bigger things,”,Sanchez said. “See the world a little bit.” Sanchez batted .409 for the Eagles this season and led the team with 6 home runs and 44 RBI. On the mound Angel was 5-3 with a 2.32 ERA and 58 strikeouts.
